HYLITE®
HYLITE® is the world’s thinnest composite panel, with a thickness of 1.2 mm and 2 mm. The panel’s another outstanding feature is a hinge function, which enables repeated bending without damage to the material. This function is achieved by milling grooves in the same position into both outer skins. In testing, the material could withstand up to 80,000 bends. Hylite® is also available in thicknesses of 3 mm and 4 mm. In this version, the core is made of foamed polypropylene (PP). Thanks to its foamed core, Hylite® is up to 80% lighter than conventional steel sheets, or up to 30% lighter than aluminium sheets, while providing the same flexural rigidity. We deliver HYLITE® as composite sheets.
